This race was really interesting and close....
First Hour
I found it odd that at the beginning of the first hour Dave said that he didn't view Rachel as his wife, he viewed her as his girlfriend.
WHAT?!?!?!?! That was absolutely baffling to me and I just can't believe he said that. With a view like that they'll be divorced in a month.
On team Brendon/Rachel, Rachel decided to be a big baby again and wine and complain about everything. I am now completely adamant that they should
NOT win the race. I am VERY surprised they even made it this far.
At the beginning of this leg of the race Rachel and Dave got stuck behind at the beginning (which I was not sorry for at all!). Those two seem to have WAY too many problems in their marriage and in the way they handle themselves in the race, not as bad as Brendon and Rachel though.
It made me disappointed that the other teams had to wait till sunrise for their clue which gave Rachel and Dave time to catch up before they all moved on.
ROADBLOCK: Those Japanese have weird game shows (although they'd probably say the same about us). During this roadblock teams had to run as fast as they could on a treadmill while grabbing enough chickens and jumping onto the platform at the end of the treadmill, and to be honest I'm not sure I could have done it. Art and JJ had problems with it at the beginning but they were ultimately the first ones that were successful (which was awesome!!). I was glad to see Brendon/Rachel and Venessa/Ralph also have a lot of trouble because it gave Art and JJ time to get ahead!
DETOURS:
- Sushi: This detour was just really disgusting for me because I despise sushi, it's REALLY DISGUSTING
- Sumo Photo: This was just really weird, I don't know if I could do this one either! I don't know why anyone would do it. Although given the choices, I might of picked it.
The first team to arrive ended up being Rachel and Dave which makes me sad they keep winning. They DO NOT DESERVE THAT MILLION!!!
At least Art and JJ were number 2, they say they are going to win and I believe it.
I'm not too torn up about who got eliminated but I wish one of the other teams had been.
ELIMINATED: Venessa and Ralph
Second Hour
I noticed in the first part of this hour that Rachel and Dave were starting to get cocky and I was hoping that it would be what lead to there eventual defeat.
I was kind of shaking inside when they were climbing the building at the beginning because that is one of my worst fears (especially when they had to go down head first).
SO SCARY!!!!!
I was also really disappointed when Art and JJ got lost. They got way behind and I was starting to think they would never catch up. Imagine my surprise and enjoyment when they pretty much propelled forward after finding the twin towers and finishing that quickly enough to get back into the race! I was hoping it would of taken Rachel and Dave longer to do the roadblock so Art and JJ could catch up, but they had to finish that first too.
I could see Brendon and Rachel having more problems (with themselves more that the race). Rachel was, of course, being a whiner baby about everything again.
Rachel and Dave again finished the part of the race where they had to rescue a distressed swimmer first although this is where Art and JJ started getting really close to passing them.
Rachel and Dave did make it to the finish line first but when they did they had not completed a roadblock and they had to be sent back (which I was glad about, because it put Art and JJ in the lead who were already working on the roadblock)
ROADBLOCK: They had to sled down a hill and then throw a little disk into a goal (which might not seem hard but it looked hard). Art and JJ had the most trouble with this roadblock than probably any other challenge (and this was probably the most frustrating). By the time Rachel and Dave got there they were still working on it, but they didn't finish before them.
UNBELIEVABLE EVEN when they had to go back!! At least two made it to second. I still can't believe Brendon and Rachel made it this far!!
